TFL and LTM
As a creative consultant for Transport for London and London Transport Museum, I curated and directed a number of events and galleries, including working on their future facing content; the Connections Gallery, Designology studio and ShapingLDN public programme.
One example of this work is ShapingLDN, the concept and curation of series of large scale evening festival style events in the Museum.
Late Debate 1: Women of the future
2018 marked 100 years since women in Britain were allowed to vote for the first time. Driven by the suffragist and suffragette movements, this was a major step towards equal voting rights for all women and men, achieved in 1928. This festival of talks, debates, immersive experiences and workshops, was programmed to recognise this momentous period in history, celebrating women’s contribution to society over the past 100 years and debating the progress we are making towards equality in the 21st century.
Women of the Future talks, debates and workshops included:
Keynote welcome from Justine Simons, OBE Deputy Mayor, Culture and the Creative Industries
All aboard for Equalia! – talk by Catherine Mayer, author and co-founder of the Women’s Equality Party
Driving gender equality – An expert packed panel debate on equality in the workforce
Get serious about feminism – Stand-up with queer comedy collective, The Lol Word
Enjoy a PechaKucha of dynamic presentations on the portrayal of women
Head to our 1918 classroom to brush up on your women’s rights and feminist facts, with Claire Kennan, Citizens 800 Project at Royal Holloway, University of London
A creative workshop with feminist underwear designer Buttress and Snatch
The futures marketplace – a cherry-picked selection of girl power organisations and a pop-up bar
The chance to explore the museum after hours, including Poster Girls – a century of art and design – a powerful exhibition which reveals the contribution female graphic designers have made to poster design over the last one hundred years.

Late Debate: Race for space
Over 54% of the world’s population live in cities today and this figure is expected to rise to 66% by 2050.
For this event we explored how London will cope with its continuing population growth. How we will balance a liveable environment with increasing density, providing space for nature, culture, heritage and play, as well as housing and critical infrastructure. The event asked guests to share their views on London’s expanding transport and infrastructural network and come up with their own creative solutions, through a festival style event offering debates, immersive experiences, talks, and workshops.
